Science: "Volcanic Eruption Experiment"

"Volcanic Eruption Experiment"

Today in science me my group: Leilani, Angela, Aretafaye worked in a experiment called " Volcanic Eruption" where we would used a test tube that put vinegar into the test tube and some red food colouring and baking soda, Baking soda + Vinegar = Eruption.

Volcanoes are formed by eruptions of lava and ash when magma rises through
cracks or weak-spots in the Earth's crust. A build up of pressure in the earth is released, by things such as a plate movement which forces molten rock to exploded into the air causing a volcanic eruption.

In New Zealand, volcanoes and earthquakes are related in that they are both caused by the tectonic plates our country sits on. Sometimes the pressure of magma forcing its way through to the Earth's surface will trigger earthquake activity.
Volcano logy of New Zealand is the scientific study of volcanoes and volcanic phenomena in New Zealand. ... While the land's volcanic history dates back to before the Zealand micro continent rifted away from Gondwanaland 60–130 million years ago, activity continues today with minor eruptions occurring every few years.
